Self Cherry Picked a sweet Franklin...always a day brightener!

edited June 2022 in Silver Coins
Looking thru some safe deposit coins I don't get to view often and discovered my 1958 Frankie was a Ty2. Hope to see this variety listed in the next edition Cherry Pickers Guide ( If it actually ever gets published...what a train wreck).

The often repeated misinformation regarding this variety is that the Ty2's account for 10% of the mintage. That number is off, perhaps as much as a whole magnitude. I am very very happy to have this and it is ironic that I have been looking for a WHITE example in MS66 for years.

The Ty2 is the retired proof die featuring an eagle with 3 feathers to the L of the perch.

Sorry for the crappy phone pix (not sure why this shows up as a two-headed eagle >< .
