Shipping gold coins in the same box with 100oz bar.... not a great idea...

Got away with it 4 or 5 times in the past but this last time I did not pack well enough.


Had a stack of 10 gold coins in PCGS slabs rubber banded together. Most of the coins were semi-numismatic Maple Leaf, AGE, etc, but the big silver bar (now known as the "Murphy's law" bar) managed to avoid the bullion and seek out my only CACed Double Eagle !

    Good thing it took out the top half of the slab. The money maker seems to have survived.

    As we all can see it’s not what we put in the package but how we pack it.

    Looks like the business end of the holder did its job and that’s what matters.

    I always place coins in those 20 coin plastic boxes and still wrap in bubble wrap , place card board between each coin etc 

     Glad your coin didn’t become a damaged Unc details coin.   You’ll have to deal with reholdering and then restickering it .  Some time and money is the penalty .
