Shipping gold coins in the same box with 100oz bar.... not a great idea...

Got away with it 4 or 5 times in the past but this last time I did not pack well enough.

Had a stack of 10 gold coins in PCGS slabs rubber banded together. Most of the coins were semi-numismatic Maple Leaf, AGE, etc, but the big silver bar (now known as the "Murphy's law" bar) managed to avoid the bullion and seek out my only CACed Double Eagle !

  • Good thing it took out the top half of the slab. The money maker seems to have survived.
  • As we all can see it’s not what we put in the package but how we pack it.
  • Looks like the business end of the holder did its job and that’s what matters.
  • I always place coins in those 20 coin plastic boxes and still wrap in bubble wrap , place card board between each coin etc

Glad your coin didn’t become a damaged Unc details coin.   You’ll have to deal with reholdering and then restickering it .  Some time and money is the penalty .
