I Did It! My Unique Indian Head Cent Set (WARNING -- Looong read)

  • After reading your doctoral thesis I was admittedly exhausted. Nice looking set but was looking at it with a Dell computer so I could not blow up the photo to see more clearly.

I too have a few nice NDN cents in PCGS slab with Rick's seal on the RIGHT and CAC on the LEFT. How did you get Rick to put his seal on the left?

By the way, Rick is the best! However, I am not a NDN specialist.
  • 1. Rather than blowing up the photos (which don’t show the coins clearly anyway), go to my OP and click on the hotlink that will bring you directly to my Registry set. Then you can click on any of the coin photos and you will then see three photos for each coin as well as the True Views when available.
    2. When Rick received the slab, and if the CAC sticker was there first (it would then be on the right), Rick would then place the Photo Seal on the left.
    3. I did warn you in the subject line it would be a long read, lol.

    Thanks.

Dear Lord the last thing we need is anything political humor or not!  🤦🏻‍♂️

You obviously are no Mitch Hedberg !!  Lol 😂 😆

I will give you credit for being the top poster in terms of frequency !  😱😣😆🙄😬

What is your business or businesses name ( s ) on eBay. ??     I’d like to peruse you inventory.
    Thx

I would never disclose my multiple company names on this site because I do not want to sell to the hardcore coin weenies and frugal wholesale dealers who visit it. And I do not want to face frivolous lawsuits (for posting truthful but unpopular comments) that would be dismissed on a summary judgement but with no guarantee that I would be reimbursed for attorneys' fees (although I almost certainly would be regardless of the politics of the judges, all of whom no doubt dislike bullies who abuse the legal system as a weapon).

Ironically, at least a few people who have posted on this forum have actually dealt with my firms, including one who constantly argues with me. But they were actually quite pleasant if finicky in those transactions.

Deleted .  Reduced imprint as it’s been copied

  • Personally that’s why I like using my name and picture so people know exactly who they’re talking to .

It also keeps me accountable for behavior and content .  Which often enough is less then flattering or intelligent, but I still own it .   ( many thanks to men like Mark Feld for setting me straight at times .  IE: my comments on NGC , which I was going to delete but CAC team already got to it . )

I’d never hide who I am in order to behave in such a manner that others would find offensive , slanderous and belittling .  ( something someone else might consider trying - hint 😉 )

Anyways I kind of knew what your answer would be.   It lets me know the personality of the person ( you ) I’m talking about .

Disclaimer :  Acknowledging the fact that some individuals with unique security concerns get a pass on being anonymous.
And not because they want to behave poorly without consequence.

Not being politically correct does not equate to "behaving poorly". You seem more upset that I exposed a convicted felon than with the actual $3 million theft perpetrated by him.

Yeah ok if you say so .Unfortunately anything you say has no credibility if you can’t be verified.

I know guys like you .   They always make the story about them 🙄🙄

You say I was upset when in fact I have no idea what you’re talking about …. But we both know you just wanted the front page .

We desperately need an ignore feature here on the forum !! 🤓

ETA :   If I was upset at any point I’ll have to tell you why .   Then I’ll have to try my best to ignore you .  Which is going to be a huge challenge since I’ve never seen anyone post so much , so often and so negatively .  And that is it in a nutshell.  I’ve got 15 to 20 people who have all contacted me , saying the same thing .  The general consensus is that it is sucking the life out of the forum .  People dislike greatly those who hide in anonymity while bs ing everyone and stirring the pot . Though I doubt hearing this will alter your content and tone .    Take care .  Meant as constructive criticism .   I’m done ✔️

MY REPLY: It might have been another user who criticized me for exposing a "reputable" dealer who was convicted of stealing $3 million. He (or you?) acted as though my criticism of him was worse than his massive theft.

My identity as a relatively large dealer has been verified by those behind this website. Your opinion about my credibility means nothing to me, nor do your projections of your own flaws.
  • Nic - Thanks. And thanks too to everyone above who shared kind comments with me.

What is the next series/goal for your collection?

For the time being I’ll continue with the hunt for upgrades for this set. I’m also working on putting together an Educational Exhibit on IHC’s, which will include my Registry set, for Winter FUN in Orlando in January 2023. I hope to see some of you there.

  • I look forward to it!
  • I have thought about the OP accomplishment, and decided to study more about the series and thought about the logic of the accomplishment.

The end result is, and I acknowledge it is of no import, but I am very impressed, especially with the collector commitment to the completion, and continuing to upgrade.

There is Registry, and then there is love and patience. All three came together.

John, thanks so very much for you taking the time examining what I have done, as well as your very kind thoughts and insights.

    Thank you.

You are very welcome, but I enjoyed viewing the pieces.

  • So nice!

    Thanks.

  • Congratulations! Great set.

Thank you! A compliment from a firm such as yours is greatly appreciated!

  • The more I think about the new CAC grading service, and the fact that they intend to eventually phase out their stickering program, the more I think that a set like this will have even more added value going forward for the simple fact that each coin has three different skilled opinions attached to it. That dramatically reduces the probability that any given coin is mis-graded, and it seems like that has been one of the primary drivers behind the appeal of valued stickers like CAC and Eagle Eye. In addition to clearly being a fun set to put together, I'd say it was a savvy move as well. Nicely done!
  • Thanks so very much for your kind comments.

As you correctly point out, while everything worked out well, my motivation was purely for the fun and challenge of getting both stickers, which I highly value and respect, on each coin. Knowing that this would be the first set where every coin has both stickers just added to my excitement!

I’ll be having an Educational Exhibit at Winter FUN this January, which will include my Registry set. I hope many of the people from this Forum that attend will visit the exhibits.
