CAC Bust Half Date Set - Halfway There

Bob Campbell - 1813, 1827
Lance Keigwin - 1824

It’s been a fun journey so far!  For now just pursuing the lettered edge type, may expand to reeded down the road.

  • You have a great eye! Not loving the 1834 as much as the others...
  • Gimme!!!!

Thanks man.  My photos aren’t doing it any favors but it is sort of an oddball in the set in terms of the look.
  • Great job so far! Great idea for doing a DATE set. Fewer coins are needed, AND you can choose to avoid the more expensive mint marks, which then allows you to obtain the grades you’re getting.

I’m looking forward to seeing your updates.

    34 looks good to me!

I love that 1824. I had the chance to own it twice And let it slip Through my fingers UGH 😉
  • It is coming along very nicely!
  • Great looking collection and best of luck in your pursuit of finishing this.
  • Thanks all.  Yes Steve… hard enough to find examples I love for each date, the basic set is enough for me thank you.  :D

I wish more CBH’s on the market had the preservation level of that 1824.  It has that “pulled out of grandma’s attic and sent straight to PCGS” look that I’m always seeking.  I’ll keep you in mind if I ever upgrade.

  • That is a nice group!
  • Impressive set, and great eye appeal!
Be careful as it’s a slippery slope. Before you know it, you’ll be putting together a Redbook set, and then… :o going after the big enchilada….the Overton set!!  :#

;) What Mintmarks, unless he is avoiding an 1838-O Reeded Edge! Many don't include the steam press coins and different type in there sets.
