man what a coin, the surfaces and lack of marks make it special. They don’t come much more original and unmolested than that. Makes you think about the conflict in the hobby with financial incentive to process a coin when it is the “market preferenc…
I would guess that is a 2nd skin after a long ago light dipping but it has retoned attractively in a series that is rare to find attractive. I think the coin got nailed in the difference between market grading and absolute grading.
That is an A s…
I don’t think it is just a grade premium, the 05o is a key date top pop in a prefect market presentation. There is also a trophy premium accounted for in that price. That very well could be diluted in a current 68 holder.
Legend knows trophy coins…

Crypto: How is your position statement different than what I posted? You think CAC remembers all of the coins they have stickered?
It was a simplified agreement but flipped to CAC perspective. CAC is a dealer firs…

I disagree with both opinions. I believe a major motivation for the creation of CAC was dissatisfaction with the difference between NGC & PCGS grading ( averaging 2-3 points and often representing 10s of thousands of $) AN…

Crypto I realize there are many people that love chops on their coins and the market does a good job of sorting the prices out. Like I said I can see how it might intrigue someone to research the meanings of the chops and any…

Braddick- I disagree with you on this. I consider a chopmark to be post mint damage. I dont buy the argument that chops are ok because it’s part of their story. If I take a hammer and smash it on a coin or put a coin on the rail…
The goal is to make a market in CAC coins for CAC and they are picky because they put their money where their mouth is. It isn’t really sight unseen since they have already blessed off on the coin in hand. If other dealers are content on doing sight…
Funny part is the coins i overpaid for are often the ones I make the biggest profit on. If you love it there is a good chance someone else will too. Not always but often
I personally think it is more PPE loans than crypto bros ( they have bastardized my online name) but there is certainly a lot of new money out there chasing stuff
I for one enjoy that they don’t. It allows a little more chance at buying old school undergraded coins for good value instead of being maximized in retail.

I have established in other threads I don't understand grading of CBHs very well, but it is hard to see how that coin was in a 62 holder unless the graders thought they were net grading for a slider (I don't see any wear from th…

I loved the Simpson coin-of course, I placed it with him. To see it in hand was spectacular. I was the underbidder on it in the sale. I absolutely regret not buying it. Old friends like that just do not appear. Is the coin wort…
The Simpson dime’s mint frost and luster make it look much more than .5 points higher. The OGH looks like a 67 bumped up for being pretty while the other seems like a coin the just couldn’t give a 69 too
let me ask the question about how people would feel about it as a 64 with those slide marks / scratches in prime focal areas if it was a white coin with a coppery periphery. eye appeal adds to or subtracts form a grade, it doesn't override it. If it…
@Seatedman It is easy to converse when both collectors agree on the same set of facts and condition. As for the book, only god and Joe know that and god may be left in the dark as well
