I have two Silver Eagles that I left sitting on my closet shelf, they both toned really, really ugly. They have sat there for about 5 years? Now they are kinda blackish in color.
That would be great if it were possible to recognize die states along with varieties. I use Bowers silver dollars encyclopedia. Also Jules Reiver has a good book to match Bowers. I appreciate the consideration.
