Pretty sure most gold stickers are on old holders. Dont think I’ve ever seen a plus graded coin with a gold sticker.
Also rarely see old holdered gold coins grading higher than MS-64. The majority of them with gold stickers are graded MS-63 or low…
I have a beautiful NGC stickered red ‘38 proof as part of a set. It isn’t going anywhere. My other NGC Legacy coins have been submitted for crossover, including a fattie.
What is a NGC legacy coin?
The newer holder should protect red cents better IN THEORY.
But all it takes is one bozo to not follow proper protocol during the reholder operation.
Possibly before your involvement with coins Steven; but at one time (late 90's or early 00's?) th…

JA why a bus? It could be a crazed local female dealer....
If they ever stopped stickering, I'd be afraid NONE of my customers would ever sell their beaned coins. That would be a horrible drag on the market.
I agree. Not even selling m…

LOL, I forgot if I did or not.
I will say that I'm a specialist and completely ignorant of very many things. Additionally, ANYONE that seriously devotes themselves to Numismatics will go a long way.
PS Thanks!
Good answer!
@Insider3 (mod edit 12/28/23)
I answered this but apparently what I wrote was taken down for something I wrote. The short answer is NO. I was nor t involved. I think Tom Delorey or David Lang found a diagnostic on those coins.
I do have anot…
almost similar to wire edge vs flat edge on the 1907 HR? But only in the very high mint state grades is flat edge noticeably higher in price.
Not true, Some numismatists I kno can differentiate the two by die pairings even when their rims are com…

It’s not that hard. Coins are not something I would put all my assets in…it’s a hobby, with some positive upside if you figure out how to buy accordingly. With interest rates at a high I would rather take a loss on a coin and pu…
Just made a new purchase- 1893-CC PR65+ CAC (pop 2/1). This is the finest known with a CAC sticker.
The finest known with a CAC sticker means it IS the finest known! The PCGS 66 is not a guarantee at this grade level.
I don't think that log…
After Hansen passes away his beneficiaries will not have the same attachment to his coins as he did.
His daughter might be the exception but not a guarantee that she will not want to sell some of his nicer coins.
But I should be gone by the year…
I think the Legacy coin is not a true CACG product as it hasn’t been independently graded by the CACG team. Rather it’s a rubber stamp of CAC and in reality it is still a CAC coin. It should be VALUED only as a CAC coin. Beg to differ? Only a raw or…
Nice coins but more into 20th century coins. At the same time Legend Numismatics was selling the 1893-CC silver dollar, i went for the more common 1941-S walker because that is what I grew up with.
Congrats to @FloridaFacelifter.
Hey guys: Even though the coin involved is not circulated… do you think @JayParrino and @MikePhillips might like a PCGS slabbed 9-11 Furefighters NYState quarters added at no cost to the group of coins sold for St Jude?
It is quite interesting learning the history from all of you. I guess it's too bad(In some of your eyes....Laura!) I have always had the Scrouge McDuck mentality and I honestly am sure I would get bored with only a hundred more or less coins in my c…

my lengthy post got truncated as I was typing as my i-pad battery died and I did not complete the posting. I will go back and finish it. There were other dealers I dealt with but my i-pad died first.
annoying.
Morelan.
John is absolutely justified to point out my misspelling!
Bruce would not like my speeling his last name incorrectly. He would get Laura to yell at me on his behalf!
Laura likes to lecture me in front of my friends! LOL.

Hello,
Hi Nic- Since I am a "night owl", I checked on Jay's theory about the coin you have being one of his duplicates, and not a "real" Knoxville coin, since like I said it is a PHYSICAL IMPOSSIBILITY for you to have a FATTY holder from the set si…
Up until very recently they were using a drop-down arrow to bring up the varieties. It made for a much cleaner and easier interface. Seems strange to abandon that.
In the alternative, if too difficult or costly to maintain a drop down arrow syst…
